Built-in accuracy checks on every statement
No converter reads every bank layout perfectly, so accuracy here is something you can see rather than a promise. Each conversion is checked before you download, and anything that does not add up is pointed out row by row.
If a check fails, fix the highlighted rows in the table and the checks update instantly. For credit card statements, the Reverse debit / credit option fixes the most common mismatch.
All amounts present
Every transaction row has a debit or a credit. Rows without one are highlighted.
Dates present
Every row has a valid date, including statements that leave the year off each line.
Balance reconciled
Opening balance plus all transactions must equal the closing balance, or the running balance must stay consistent row by row.
Document fields extracted
Bank, masked account number, statement period and both balances are found and shown in the account summary.
No duplicate rows
Identical rows are flagged so you can confirm whether they are genuine repeats.
Security by architecture
Built so you can verify your statements stay private
Bank statements are some of the most sensitive documents you own, so instead of asking you to trust a privacy promise, this bank statement converter is built so you can check it yourself.
Local-only processing
PDF reading and on-device OCR run in your browser. The site is static files; no server receives a document unless you opt in to AI scan.
Locked-down by design
A strict Content Security Policy, self-hosted fonts and OCR engine, and no ads or trackers. The only third-party script is Google Analytics page-view counting, which never sees your documents.
Live privacy receipt
The converter lists requests to other servers, read from your browser’s own network log. Expect only Google Analytics page-view requests; nothing carrying your documents.
No accounts, no tracking
No sign-up and no accounts. Analytics only counts page views, so there is nothing to link your documents to you.
Memory only, one-click wipe
Documents are never written to storage and passwords are cleared once a file is processed. “Wipe everything” clears the session; so does closing the tab.
Consent-only AI scan
Scanned statements can be read privately on your device. The optional AI scan sends page images only after you explicitly agree, every time.
Safe exports
Formula-injection protection, and account numbers masked and left out of files unless you opt in.
Everything you need to trust the numbers
Conversion is the easy part. The tool also checks the result and lets you fix it before it reaches your books.
Private by default
Statements are read in your browser and our code never uploads them. Verify it yourself with the live privacy receipt and the network tab in your browser.
Password-protected PDFs
Unlock locked statements with the password you were given. It is used once in memory and never stored.
Scanned statements
Read scans privately with on-device OCR, or opt in to AI scan for tougher documents. You choose, every time.
Batch convert
Drop up to 20 statements at once, review each, or export them all combined with a source-file column.
Validation checks
Amounts present, dates present, balance reconciled, document fields found, duplicates flagged. Know before you download.
Edit on the page
Fix any cell, delete rows, search and filter in a spreadsheet-style table before exporting.
CSV, Excel, JSON, QBO, OFX, QIF
Spreadsheet formats plus import files for QuickBooks, Quicken and other accounting software.
Reorder & rename fields
Drag columns, rename headers and hide what you do not need. Presets for QuickBooks and Xero.
Auto categories
Optional category column (groceries, rent, subscriptions, fees…) assigned locally and fully editable.

Why convert a PDF bank statement to CSV or Excel?
PDFs are made for reading and printing, not for sorting, totalling or importing. CSV is the format almost every accounting, budgeting and tax tool can import. Excel is better when you want to review, filter or share the numbers, so this tool also works as a PDF to Excel bank statement converter, producing a real .xlsx workbook with proper dates and amounts. If you use QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero or GnuCash, download QBO, OFX or QIF files instead and skip the spreadsheet step.
Whether you are a bookkeeper preparing client files, applying for a loan, doing your taxes or tracking your spending, the goal is the same: get the transactions out of the PDF quickly and correctly, without handing your financial data to someone else.
Built for people who handle statements
Bookkeepers & accountants
Turn client PDFs into import-ready CSV, QBO or OFX files for QuickBooks or Xero, with no client data sent to a third party.
Loan & mortgage applications
Lenders ask for months of statements as spreadsheets. Convert them and check totals tie out.
Tax preparation
Gather a year of transactions into one sheet and filter by category to find deductible spending.
Budgeting & expense tracking
Get your own data out of the PDF and into the tool you actually use to budget, including Quicken via QIF.
Audits & reconciliation
Source fingerprints and balance checks give you a defensible trail from PDF to spreadsheet.
Small business owners
Merge business and card statements into one file and export it for your accountant.

What is a bank statement converter?
A bank statement converter turns the PDF statement from your bank into a spreadsheet or accounting file you can sort, total and import. It reads the transaction table and rebuilds it as clean rows and columns: date, description, debit, credit and running balance. That saves you from copying rows out of a PDF by hand, which is slow and easy to get wrong across several months of statements.
Is there a free and unlimited bank statement converter available?
Yes, this one. It is a free bank statement converter with no signup, no watermarks and no daily page limits. That is possible because the conversion runs inside your web browser instead of on a paid server, so there is no per-page cost to pass on. It works online on Windows, Mac or Linux with nothing to install. The only limits are practical ones per batch, listed further down.
Is a bank statement converter legit?
It can be, as long as it does what it claims without putting your data at risk. Many online converters upload your statement to their servers, so you have to trust how they store and delete it. This converter reads the PDF in your own browser and does not upload it, and you can check that in the live privacy receipt or your browser’s network tab. The security page explains how to verify it step by step.
How to convert a PDF bank statement to CSV?
Add your PDF bank statement to the converter at the top of this page, review the extracted transactions, then click CSV to download. PDF to CSV is the conversion most accounting, budgeting and tax tools need, and it is free with no account. The tool is built for bank and credit card statements; for other kinds of PDF a general-purpose converter is a better fit.
How do I convert a PDF to CSV on a Mac?
Open this page in Safari, Chrome or Firefox on your Mac, drag the PDF bank statement into the converter, check the results and click CSV. There is nothing to install, and because the file is processed in the browser it works the same way on macOS, Windows and Linux. The CSV opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.
Are my bank statements uploaded anywhere?
No. By default the PDF is opened and read by code running inside your own browser tab. This website is a set of static files with no server component that receives documents, and our code never sends your statement anywhere. The live privacy receipt shows every request your browser makes to other servers. The only exception is the optional AI scan for scanned statements, which asks for your explicit consent first.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Yes. If a statement is locked, the converter asks for the password right next to that file. The password is used only in your browser to open the PDF, is never sent anywhere, and is cleared as soon as the file is processed. A wrong password simply lets you try again.
Which banks and statement layouts are supported?
The converter reads the text layer of the PDF and detects the table structure from how the page is laid out, so it is not tied to a list of banks. It handles debit/credit columns, a single signed amount column, running balances, DD/MM and MM/DD dates, and descriptions that wrap over several lines. Unusual layouts can still trip it up, which is why every result is validated and editable before you download.
What do the validation checks mean?
After extraction we check that every row has an amount and a date, that the opening balance plus all transactions equals the closing balance (or that the running balance stays consistent when the statement prints no totals), that key document fields were found, and that there are no suspicious duplicate rows. A failed check tells you exactly where to look.
Can I convert scanned or photographed statements?
Yes, in two ways. Private OCR runs entirely on your device: slower, and it can misread digits on poor scans, so check the validation results. AI scan is more accurate on difficult scans, but it works by sending images of the pages to our server and on to an AI provider to read them. It is off by default, asks for your consent every time, and the images are not stored by us.
What does the AI scan do with my pages?
When you choose AI scan and confirm, your browser renders the pages as images and sends only those images over an encrypted connection to our processing function. It forwards them to Anthropic’s Claude API to read the transactions and returns the result to you. We do not save the images or the result. The AI provider handles data under its own terms, so if that is not acceptable for a document, use the private on-device OCR instead.
Which formats can I export?
CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and JSON for general use, plus QBO (QuickBooks), OFX and QIF for accounting and personal finance software. For QBO, OFX and QIF you can pick the account type (checking, savings or credit card). Import files are generated from the transactions in the table, so fix anything there first. We have not tested every version of every accounting package, so run a small test import before loading a full year.
Is there a file size or page limit?
Each file can be up to 50 MB and you can convert up to 20 files in one batch. There are no daily page quotas, no accounts and no watermarks for the standard converter and private OCR. The optional AI scan reads up to 15 pages per file and is limited to 5 scans per visitor per day.
Can I change the columns before downloading?
Yes. Rename any column, reorder them by dragging or with the arrow buttons, hide the ones you do not need and edit any cell directly. Presets give you ready-made layouts for QuickBooks and Xero imports, or a single signed amount column.
Why are account numbers hidden in the download?
Spreadsheets get emailed and shared. By default only the last four digits are ever extracted, and even those stay out of your files unless you tick “Include account details”.
The balance check failed. What should I do?
Open the transactions table and look for rows highlighted in red or amber. Credit-card statements often show purchases as positive numbers; if the check says the totals match when reversed, tick “Reverse debit / credit”. You can also fix any amount by hand and the checks update instantly.
